Collective Drawing Dictation

Activity 1

Age group: 6-8 year-olds

Game: Collective Drawing Dictation

Vocabulary: Free Vocabulary - chosen by the T (suggestions: Sun, coat, rectangle, bowl, sock, eye, hat, skirt, hand and cake)

Time: 15’

Material: a classroom with an E-board and some A4 sheets of paper

Interaction Pattern: T-Ss / Ss-Ss

Preparation for the game: The game is to be played in a classroom with and E-board.

 

Instructions:

1.   Separate the Ss into 4 or 5 groups with 5 Ss each in different places in the classroom

2.   Give out one sheet of paper per group

3.   Say a word at a time out loud and give the Ss some time to draw

4.   When the T finishes dictating all the words, he/she can mingle the sheets of paper among the groups so that each group doesn´t correct their own dictation

Note: The number of words can vary depending on the T´s availability.
